About Me

Crismeily is a self taught artist who explores the fluctuation of life through a fluid, sometimes unpredictable, method of painting. By layering a mixture of acrylic paint, pouring medium and silicone oil, she’s able to use a palette knife to create multicolored cells in her abstract paintings to bring it to life. The technique gives the appearance of waves, reminiscent of the sea and ocean. She hopes to invoke in viewers a longing for water, for vulnerability and belonging. She hopes they are left with a reminder that we are all connected and that connection might, in fact, be the point of our existence.
Crismeily routinely depicts black women, nature and connection (in its many iterations). Her work has been exhibited in New York, New Jersey and Virginia.
Art is her medication, her meditation and, at times, her church.
When she’s not painting, or otherwise creating art, Crismeily works as a general liability attorney. Born in the Caribbean, she currently resides in New York City.
